Why does Google say “Crawled – currently not indexed” for my new posts?

I publish regularly and Google Search Console shows many of my posts as “Crawled – currently not indexed”. The pages work fine. What does this mean and how do I fix it?

This status means Google visited the page but decided it was not worth adding to the index yet. It is a quality and priority signal, not a technical error.

The usual causes and fixes:

  • Thin or similar content. If the post says roughly what hundreds of other pages say, Google has little reason to index it. Add first-hand detail, examples, data or steps nobody else covers.
  • Duplicates on your own site. Two posts targeting the same search compete with each other. Merge them and 301-redirect the weaker one.
  • Weak internal links. Link to the post from 2–3 related pages that are already indexed, so Google sees it matters.
  • Low site authority. New sites get crawled less. A few real backlinks help.

After improving the page, update it and use "Request indexing" in Search Console. It can still take days or weeks, so focus on your best posts first.
