Domain Authority (DA) is a score from Moz. Domain Rating (DR) is a score from Ahrefs. Both run from 0 to 100 and estimate how strong a site’s backlink profile is compared with other sites. A higher number usually means the site has more links from trusted, relevant websites.
Neither score comes from Google, and Google does not use them to rank pages. They are third-party estimates. Still, SEO teams use them every day because they give a quick, comparable view of a site’s link strength.
Always compare sites in the same niche. A DR 35 site that is relevant to your topic and gets real traffic is often a better choice than a DR 60 site with no visitors.
Before you pay for a placement, also check the site’s organic traffic with our Website Traffic Checker, look at its age with the Domain Age Checker, and browse vetted options in the guest post marketplace.
